Successful Participation

In order to successfully participate in the U.S. Model House of Representatives program, Student Representatives will need to present an understanding of the workings of our nation’s legislature—its structure and internal rules of procedure. An exciting and educational way to do this is to watch the proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives on C-SPAN, which will feature many of the locations you will be in during the U.S. Model House of Representatives. Students Representatives will also have knowledge of the passing of a bill, and appropriate conduct in the House of Representatives. More information on this can be found on our resources page.
